A big yawn stretched her perfect rosebud mouth open, and her tiny little eyelashes fluttered close during Joanna’s newborn session. Her sweet mama stroked her cheek and we got this sweet five day old little girl to go to sleep. The white noise app on my phone buzzed softly and the space heater kicked on creating the perfect cozy formula for sleepy newborn pictures. I love mini newborn sessions because we get to focus on the tiny details and newness of these little ones.
We swaddled and un-swaddled, moved this sleepy girl from basket to bean bag, and gently placed flowers around her sweet face.
Brooke is one of those sweet friends who always has a smile and a laugh, with brilliant blue eyes. I really hope Joanna gets those eyes – and has tight blonde curls like her big brother!
So we chatted and visited about her recent pregnancy and delivery. Each time I ask a new mama to share her story, I genuinely care and want to know what her experience was like. I know from my own personal pregnancies that each one is unique and different every time. Brooke’s story had me on the edge of my seat!
It amazes me that despite complications, or not, at the end of those 9 months a beautiful a healthy tiny baby is born. Pregnancy is such a wonderful, painful, miraculous, and exhausting thing.
I think Brooke is very grateful to have this pregnancy finished and Joanna safely here. I was so excited to photograph her – I’ve been waiting ever since she announced she was pregnant! Welcome to the world little Joanna!
